陝川玉桂書院是為了保存栗谷李一的著作《極文行禮》和《海東淵院》而建造的。玉桂書院建於英祖三年（1725年），距鄉谷洞約4公里處，後因興宣大院君的書院廢止政策而關閉。高宗六年在距村東約200公尺處重建。學院由講堂、少院寺、內三門、外三門、格瓦里薩等組成。
