陕川玉桂书院是为了保存栗谷李一的著作《极文行礼》和《海东渊院》而建的。玉桂书院始建于英祖三年（1725年），距乡谷洞约4公里处，后因兴宣大院君的书院废止政策而关闭。高宗六年在距村东约200米处重建。学院由讲堂、少院寺、内三门、外三门、格瓦里萨等组成。
