明地溪谷從京畿道第二高峰明地山（海拔1,267 m）山頂向東延伸。山谷入口處提供多種便利設施，包括餐廳、公共衛生間和住宿。在山谷裡，乾淨的水從岩石上傾瀉而下。山谷入口兩側都是森林，有一條小路通往升天寺。明知瀑布距離山谷入口步行近一小時，瀑布高僅7~8米，但秋天的景色卻格外美麗。
