명지계곡은 경기도에서 두 번째로 높은 산인 명지산(해발 1,267m) 정상에서 동쪽으로 뻗어 있는 계곡이다. 계곡 입구에는 레스토랑, 공중화장실, 숙박시설 등 다양한 편의시설이 갖춰져 있습니다. 계곡 자체에서는 깨끗한 물이 바위 위로 힘차게 흘러내립니다. 계곡 입구 양쪽으로 숲이 줄지어 있고, 승천사로 이어지는 산책로가 있다. 계곡 입구에서 도보로 약 1시간 거리에 있는 명지폭포는 높이가 7~8m에 불과하지만 가을에는 정말 아름답습니다.
