長慶寺位於南漢山城內。與北漢山城一起守護首爾的南漢山城，與長慶寺同時建於仁祖16年（1638年）。來自全國八個省份的武僧參與了建設。長慶寺是九座寺廟中僅存的一座，由僧侶組成的軍隊駐紮在那裡進行訓練。
