长庆寺位于南汉山城内。与北汉山城一起守护首尔的南汉山城，与长庆寺同时建造于仁祖16年（1638年）。来自全国八个省份的武僧参与了建设。长庆寺是九座寺庙中仅存的一座，由僧侣组成的军队驻扎在那里进行训练。
