彌勒大院石寺遺址，史蹟第317號，位於忠清北道和慶尚北道之間的天空嶺盆地，坐北朝南。相傳新羅末代王子毛伊泰子，在前往金剛山途中做了一個夢，觀世音菩薩指示他立佛像。於是，他在現彌勒里遺址建造了一座寺廟，以實現女神的願望。寺廟的名稱是清州大學在 1977 年和 1978 年透過發掘研究發現的，而梨花女子大學的一組研究人員於 1980 年對寺廟場地進行了更徹底的調查。
