史跡第317号弥勒大院石祠址は、忠清北道と慶尚北道の間のハヌルジェ峠の盆地に南を向いている。新羅最後の王子、マウイテジャは金剛山へ旅行中、ある夜夢を見て、観世音菩薩が仏像を建立するように指示したと言われています。その結果、現在の弥勒里の場所に女神の願いを祀る神殿を建てました。寺院の名前は1977年と1978年に清州大学の発掘調査によって発見され、寺院の敷地は1980年に梨花女子大学の研究チームによってさらに徹底的に調査された。
