石窟庵是新羅景德王（742-765）統治時期金大成建造的。距離佛國寺約3公里，乘車約9公里，石窟的設計與面向東海的坐佛非常和諧。它是一項寶貴的文化遺產，於1995年12月6日被聯合國教科文組織登記為世界遺產。
