대구안전테마파크는 비상상황 시 시민들에게 안전교육을 제공하기 위해 건립됐다. 테마파크에는 일상생활에서 접할 수 있는 사고를 시연하고 모의 안전훈련을 할 수 있는 체험장을 마련했다. 실용적이고 유용한 안전정보를 제공하는 주목할만한 전시관으로는 지하철 안전전시회, 산악안전전시회, 지진안전전시회 등이 있다. 전시장, 안전교육장 등 공원 곳곳의 모든 시설은 안전의 중요성을 강조하도록 설계됐다.
