Boeunsan Mountain (439.0m above sea level) is the main mountain of Gangjin, overlooking Gangjin-eup. It is called Udubong Peak because it resembles a cow eating grass when viewed from a distance. As you enter the mountain along the path leading up from Chunghon Pagoda, you will see natural green tea trees and Rigida pine forests on your left and right. This is the most visited mountain by Gangjin people. The path from Chunghontap to Dolsaem is filled with the scent of pine trees in the early morning. It is an exercise course where Gangjin-eup residents can hike and walk starting at 4 a.m. About 500 residents visit the place every day, and the mineral water from Dolsam in the early morning is excellent. If you take a bucket of mineral water from the stone spring and climb to the top, you can see the fishy smell of the sea of ​​Gangjin Bay and the whole of Gangjin town at a glance. Especially in spring, when the barley sprouts are sprouting, you can enjoy the best scenery if you visit with your family. Nearby, Yeongnang's birthplace and Geumgoksa Temple, with their fragrant peony scent, and Goseongsa Temple, where Dasan Jeong Yak-yong stayed in Boeunsanbang, are located on the trail, making it a suitable hiking course that also serves as a historical tour. Starting from Hontap, passing through the mineral spring (dol spring), passing through the pine forest, and climbing to the top of Udubong Peak, the wide mud flats of Gangjin unfold, and the majestic majesty of Wolchulsan Mountain, a national park to the north, comes before your eyes. There is a course that goes from the summit to Geumgoksa Temple via Ilbongsan Mountain and Santaebong Mountain, and a course that goes from the three-way intersection to Dolsam Temple to the top of Udubong Peak via Goseongsa Temple and then to Rose Mountain Lodge in Pasan-ri, Gundong-myeon. Although the slope is steep, there are no dangerous places, so it is suitable for children. It is a gentle path that even women can climb.
The hike takes about 3 hours, so it is recommended as a family hike because you can hike in the morning with your family and then visit the famous Gangjin Korean traditional restaurant and enjoy delicious food.
