安山植物园于2001年开放，共有三个大厅。第一馆（382.81平方米）是一个热带花园，有98种植物，其中包括棕榈树。第二馆（846平方米）展示鸢尾等11科177种花卉植物。第三馆（846平方米）展示沼泽植物4科177种。室外花园包括玫瑰园、果树园、野生植物园、植物演替园以及种植有红桃花等 46 种植物的池塘。植物公园内有一座金字塔形的现代化温室，是安山市的骄傲。该公园还与星湖公园相连。
