忠州水壩是韓國最大的多功能混凝土水壩，在水資源規劃和管理、防洪破壞和電力生產方面發揮重要作用。水壩區設有水展館、紀念塔、休息區、遊船碼頭等設施。從結構上看，大壩高97.5米，長447米。主壩下方有一座高21公尺、長480.7公尺的平衡水庫大壩。
