1998년 9월 17일 사적 제408호로 지정된 왕궁리 유적은 면적이 216,862㎡이다. 백제시대부터 통일신라시대까지 다양한 건축물과 유물이 남아있습니다. 국보 제289호 왕궁리오층석탑을 둘러싸고 있는 직사각형 모양의 성터에서 유물이 발견됐다.
