전주향교는 조선시대(1392~1910)에 건립된 향토의 서원으로 사적 보물 제379호로 지정되어 있습니다. 조선시대에는 국가교육원이었습니다. 본교는 원래 경기전 터에 있었으나 1603년에 이전하였다. 대성전 본관에는 중국 유학자 7명과 조선 학자 18명의 위패가 모셔져 있다.
