The Taebaek Mountains travel south along the spine of the Korean Peninsula, and one of the seven 1,000m mountains that form the Yeongnam Alps is Unmunsan Mountain (1,188m). The more you look at Unmunsan Mountain, the thicker and richer it becomes. It is connected to Gaji Mountain to the east, and Unmun Mountain is a mountain visited by many hikers due to its majestic landscape and dense trees. The view from the summit shows the golden silver grass fields of Cheonhwangsan Mountain to the south and the ridge leading to Gajisan Mountain to the east. There are large and small temples and hermitages here, including Unmunsa Temple, and the surrounding scenery is very beautiful.

* Unmunsa Temple
This temple is located at the northern foot of Unmunsan Mountain. It was founded by Shinseung in the 18th year of King Jinheung of Silla (557) and rebuilt by Master Wonkwang, State Preceptor Boyang, State Preceptor Woneung, and Ilyeon Seon in order. Some buildings were burned down during the Japanese invasions of Korea, but among the 17 pavilions, Obaeknahanjeon and Gwaneumjeon are preserved in their original appearance. The drooping pine trees (Bansong, a natural monument) and the spring water of Naewonam within the temple are beautiful, and there are hermitages such as Sariam, Cheongsinam, and Bukdaeam around the temple, and the surrounding dense forest of pine and fir trees further enhances the scenery. . Seven items, including the treasured stone lantern in front of Geumdang, are stored here, all of which are from the Silla and Goryeo periods, making it a historic place. Currently, it is well known as a bhikkhuni monastic university where monks study Sutra.
