Yaksan-myeon (Joyakdo), which has the largest number of native medicinal herbs in Korea, is famous for black goat and three-quarter-leafed herb (Eumyanggwak). Sammunsan Mountain (397m above sea level), which forms Yaksan-myeon, is a relatively low-altitude mountain, but it is by no means an easy mountain.

Azaleas bloom in abundance in April, and at the top (Mangbong), the site of a beacon tower remains, and Jukseon-ri. The road up to Mangbong, the summit, is a course where you can see Cheongwansan Mountain to the north and the Dadohae Sea to the south, making you feel like you are floating in the sea. If you climb about 300 meters from Jukseon-ri, you will come to Sinseonggol Mineral Spring that emerges from between the rocks. You can also quench your thirst with mineral water.

This course is 3.2, which leads to Jukseon-ri → Sinseonggol mineral spring → Jangyongsan → Sangamanjae → Biryeobawi → Sammunsan (Mangbong) → Ummeokjae → Owl Rock → Deungneombatjae. It is a km long course, but you can climb it from the other side as well. This course is short, so if you want to hike more, instead of going down from Mangbong to Deungneombatjae, you can stop by Azalea Park and hike further on the 3.1km long course that goes to Gasa-dong.
