Gunsan was the first place south of the Han River where the March 1st Independence Movement took place. Yeongmyeong School, Jesus Hospital, and Guam Church took the lead in starting the movement, and it became a spark that spread the movement throughout the country. The purpose of the 100th Anniversary Memorial Hall of the March 1st Movement is to publicize the historicity of the Gunsan Independence Movement and to learn about the noble spirit of love for the country of our ancestors who sacrificed their lives for the independence movement.
The exterior of the Gunsan March 1st Movement 100th Anniversary Memorial Hall is a replica of Yeongmyeong School 100 years ago, and it provides exhibition viewing and various experience spaces, making it a space where visitors can always communicate and inherit and develop the spirit of love for the country as a living education center for patriotic veterans. We are trying to make it happen.
