Gubyeongsan Mountain is a mountain that rises from Songnisan Mountain, a salt river in Hoseo, and is made up of nine magnificent and beautiful peaks in Jeokam-ri, Maro-myeon and the province of Gyeongbuk. Gubyeongsan Mountain is located at the southern end of Songnisan Mountain and was not well known because it was overshadowed by Songnisan Mountain's reputation, but many hikers have been visiting it recently. It is especially famous for its beautiful fall foliage. Additionally, the fall foliage harmonizes with the rocky cliffs to create a spectacular sight, making it a suitable place for fall hiking. Since ancient times, in the Boeun region, Songnisan Cheonwangbong is Jiabi Mountain, Gubyeongsan Mountain is Jiomi Mountain, and Geumjeoksan Mountain is Son Mountain, so they are called 'Samsan'. Due to Songnisan Mountain's reputation, it is not well known to the general public, so the entire mountain is clean, quiet, and well-preserved. Boeun County Office registered the 43.9km section connecting Songnisan Mountain and Gubyeongsan Mountain as ‘Chungbuk Alps’ on May 17, 1999, and is widely promoting it as a tourism product.

There are many things to see near Gubyeongsan Mountain. About 10km away is the Seodanggol Youth Training Center, where beautiful nature and facilities are in harmony, and Seowon Valley, Mansu Valley, and Samga Reservoir are located on Gubyeongsan Mountain. In addition, there is the 99-kan Seon Byeong-guk Overpass located in the center of the valley, Samnyeonsanseong Fortress, a historical mountain education center, and the site of Togolsa Temple, which was ruined during the Korean War. And the summit is flat and overlooks the wide Boeun Plain. It is worth taking a look at the large pine trees resembling Songnisan Jeongipumsong in the Seowon Valley hidden between this mountain and Songnisan Mountain and around the entrance to the valley. According to legend, this tree is called 'cow pine' as the wife of Jeongipumsong, and is a 250-year-old protected tree designated by Chungcheongbuk-do.
