Seodaesan Mountain, the highest mountain in South Chungcheong Province, forms the border with Okcheon-gun, North Chungcheong Province, and according to records from the Joseon Dynasty, Seodaesan Mountain seems to have been recognized as a deep mountain in Geumsan Mountain. According to the Dongguk Yeoji Seungnam, there were three Seodaesan Temples on Seodaesan Mountain before the early Joseon Dynasty, so they were quite well known. There were Seodaesa Temples at the site of the current Wonheungsa Temple at the western foot of Seodaesa Temple, and there are large bluestone monuments, including a stupa of Chuwundang, a high monk from the late Goryeo Dynasty. There are still many bankruptcies. Also, seeing that there are many copies of the Avatamsaka Sutra published by Seodaisa in various temples in Korea, we can see that Seodaisa was a great temple and active in Buddhist practice.

The shape of the mountain appears to have risen straight out of the ground and is close to Birae Mountain (an independent mountain that is not connected to a mountain range). The mountain range continues past Jaemaljae to the north, Bideulmokjae to the south, and Minjae to the southwest, but the mountains are low and Seodaesan itself is so towering and high that it overwhelms all the surrounding mountains.

The mountain is a cone-shaped mountain with many strangely shaped peaks and steep cliffs here and there, and the scenery is beautiful. There are Yongbawi Rock, Madangbawi Rock, Seonbawi Rock, Phallic Rock, Cloud Bridge, Lion's Cave, Salbawi Rock, Gaedeoksa Temple, Gaedeok Waterfall, etc. In Jureung, there is a legend related to Seokmun, Gyeongwoojang Regiment, and Big Dipper Rock. If you stand at the top of Seodaesan Mountain, you can see Minjoojisan Mountain and Deogyusan Mountain. , you can see Daedunsan Mountain, Gyeryongsan Mountain, and Daejeon City. All of the mountain paths on Seodaesan Mountain are steep, but it is cute and fun, such as going up and down the mountain path leading to the rock mound. No matter where you look while hiking, the scenery is beautiful and makes you immerse yourself in the beauty of mountain climbing.
