Seongpanak is one of the many courses that must be taken when climbing Hallasan Mountain. The Seongpanak course, along with the Gwaneumsa course, is a course on the east side of Hallasan Mountain that allows you to climb up to the crater course with a view of Baeknokdam, and has a gentle slope. Since March 2003, summit climbing has been possible all year round.
Seongpanak Rest Area is located at the highest point in the middle of the 5.16 Road connecting Jeju City and Seogwipo. This is where the Seongpanak Hiking Trail, one of the hiking trails leading to Hallasan Mountain, begins. The hiking trail is overgrown with broad-leaved trees such as hornbeam, making it great for forest bathing. It is a place where you can feel the beauty of Hallasan Mountain, which has various trees growing around it and changes with the seasons. If you follow the Seongpanak hiking trail to the summit, you will pass Seongpanak, which is 1,215 meters high. |
