Gyebangsan Mountain (1579.1 m) is the fifth highest mountain in South Korea, following Hallasan Mountain, Jiri Mountain, Seorak Mountain, and Deogyu Mountain. Unduryeong (1,089m above sea level), which is a branch of the Taebaek Mountains and the highest mountain pass in South Korea by car, wraps around the foot of the mountain, and is home to a colony of yew trees and azaleas, and especially in winter, the snow-covered pine forest creates a spectacular view. The mountainous terrain is similar to Seoraksan Mountain's Daecheongbong Peak, and the environment is well-protected to the extent that this area has recently been designated as an ecosystem protection area.

The area around the ridge road is mesmerizing with the autumn foliage made up of oak trees. Except when snow is piled up, you can climb to the top in 3 hours. Although the mountain is high, it has a gentle slope so it is not burdensome to hike. Especially in winter, there is a lot of snow, so it is loved by hikers for snowy hiking. This mountain is home to a variety of medicinal herbs and wild flowers, and it is even more famous because wild ginseng is often found there. Lee Seung-bok's birthplace and Bangadari mineral water are located near Yongpyeong-myeon, Pyeongchang-gun, making it a place where linked tourism is possible.
