草岛位于丽水西南77公里处，周围有大大小小的岛屿。岛上中央桑山峰周围有三个小渔村。该岛以其山顶的日落景色以及退潮时金幕村和沿海木岛之间的海水分离而闻名。岛上有两个海滩，其中正江海滩是家庭度假的热门地点。每天只有一趟客轮往返于丽水和草岛之间。还有前往附近岛屿的游船之旅，这是过夜客人的热门活动。
