安眠岛距离泰安岛 30 公里，是韩国第六大岛，一座建于 1970 年的 200 米大桥将安眠岛与泰安郡连接起来。朝鲜王朝时期，为了方便税收运输，切断了安面邑昌吉里和南面诗浓里之间的交通，从而将与南面相连的半岛孤立起来。岛上的海岸线分布着约14个海滩以及茂盛的松树，是安眠邑的象征。岛上还拥有安眠岛自然林和莫甘州林（天然纪念物第138号）。
