公州石蔵里遺跡は、公州市から約6キロ離れた金剛江の北岸に位置する。この遺跡は韓国の代表的な旧石器時代遺跡の一つであり、史跡第334号に指定されている。この遺跡は延世大学博物館のチームによって1964年から1974年にかけて10回にわたって発掘調査が行われた。 27 層の地層の発掘により、人々が 11 の文化時代を通してこの地域に暮らしていたことを証明する遺物が発掘されました。この地域は 1990 年と 1993 年に再び発掘され、さらに多くの文化的遺物が生み出され、当時に住んでいた人々のより明確なイメージを作り出すのに役立ちました。
