この島は竹島と呼ばれていますが、1999 年に南浦堤防が建設されてから本土とつながっており、現在は厳密には島ではありません。島の入り口には、新鮮なクワ (刺身魚の切り身) レストランがたくさん並んでいます。この無人の漁島は、竹林が密生しているため、大島 (竹の島) とも呼ばれています。
