忠烈寺位於全羅北道井邑，是為了紀念忠武公李舜臣將軍的精神而建立的神社。他是一位偉大的民族英雄，在臨津戰爭（1592-1598）期間使用創新的「龜船」帶領韓國海軍取得了許多海戰的勝利。
寺廟位於龜尾山中心，俯瞰井邑市，是每年 4 月 28 日李將軍誕辰紀念日舉行的紀念儀式的舉辦地。該儀式旨在紀念這位海軍英雄及其對這座城市無可指責的服務。李舜臣於 1589 年被任命為井邑郡守，但不久後於 1591 年辭去職務，擔任全羅地區的海軍總長。 |
