忠烈寺位于全罗北道井邑，是为了纪念忠武公李舜臣将军的精神而建立的神社。他是一位伟大的民族英雄，在临津战争（1592-1598）期间使用创新的“龟船”带领韩国海军取得了许多海战的胜利。
该寺庙位于龟尾山中心，俯瞰井邑市，是每年 4 月 28 日李将军诞辰纪念日举行的纪念仪式的举办地。该仪式旨在纪念这位海军英雄及其对这座城市无可指责的服务。李舜臣于 1589 年被任命为井邑郡守，但不久后于 1591 年辞去职务，担任全罗地区的海军总长。 |
