태백해바라기축제는 구와우마을에서 열리며, 다채로운 야생화와 끝없이 펼쳐진 해바라기밭(국내 최대 규모)을 기념하는 행사이다. 축제는 해바라기밭 산책길과 함께 300여종의 야생화가 가득한 661,157㎡ 규모의 행사장에서 펼쳐진다. 이번 축제에서는 야생화 체험 프로그램도 진행된다.
