文殊山城建於朝鮮第十九代肅宗20年（1694年）。該堡壘旨在保衛光華島免受海洋入侵。當時，城牆有北門、西門、南門，但在丙仁藥行（1866年）期間被大火燒毀。北門於1995年修復，南門於2002年修復。周圍風景優美，站在山頂可以看到從朝鮮到漢江入海口、三嶽山到遠處仁川大海的壯麗景色。四季景色優美，被稱為金浦金剛山。這座山是文殊寺的所在地，文殊寺建於新羅真成王統治時期。
