柱狀節理帶是橫斷面呈六邊形或三角形的柱狀岩層。花崗岩村沿岸的柱狀節理帶是由大約2000萬年前新生代第三紀噴發的玄武岩熔岩形成的。當熔岩冷卻並收縮成裂縫時，就形成了柱狀玄武岩地層。這些岩石看起來像水平或垂直堆積的木頭。柱子的平均長度約為20米，最長橫斷面的對角線長度約為50公分。在東海岸的柱狀熔岩地層中，華岩的柱狀節理帶是最古老的，因此具有無價的學術價值。岩石形狀各異，也是觀賞的絕佳景觀。
