外古山甕器村是陶器大師許德萬於1975年定居該地區時建立的。全國50%以上的陶器產品是在這個村莊製作的。該村莊還擁有多個景點供遊客參觀，例如蔚山甕器博物館，該博物館收藏了金氏世界紀錄中最大的陶器；還有一年一度的蔚山甕器節，活動項目豐富多彩。
