昌义门通常被称为紫霞门。它是朝鲜王朝时期围绕汉阳（首尔）城墙的北方四个小城门之一。四大大门之一的肃靖门关闭后，昌义门成为最受欢迎的北门。因此，人们又称昌义门为北门。它是四个小门中唯一仍保持原始状态的门。虽然小，差不多50m吧？从尺寸上看，它看起来非常坚固、坚固。四个小门中的另一个门东小门装饰着一只凤凰，而昌义门的椽子上装饰着一只木鸡。木鸡背后的原因是人们认为鸡是蜈蚣的克星。人们相信安装木鸡对于克服蜈蚣的邪气很重要。
