阳谷生态植物园于2004年6月首次开放，总面积189141平方米。建设耗资近31亿韩元（约300万美元），旨在发展成为韩朝生态系统恢复中心。它位于韩国最北部地区，拥有 400 多种稀有植物，其中包括韩国本土物种并受到韩国环境部保护的植物。
园区按特色分为植物园、天然林、设施区等六个部分。植物园内集中展示了非军事区（DMZ）和阳谷地区自然生长的北方本土植物、高山植物等珍稀植物。 另有步行道、药用植物展厅、苗圃、温室等。为增添园林自然活泼的气息，设置了山涧区和湿地区，让人们有机会享受悦耳的流水声。 |
