文殊山城建于朝鲜第十九代肃宗20年（1694年）。该堡垒旨在保卫光华岛免受海洋入侵。当时，城墙有北门、西门、南门，但在丙仁药行（1866年）期间被大火烧毁。北门于1995年修复，南门于2002年修复。城墙全长6公里，其中4公里未修复。周围风景优美，站在山顶可以看到从朝鲜到汉江入海口、从三岳山到远处仁川大海的壮丽景色。四季景色优美，被称为金浦金刚山。这座山是文殊寺的所在地，文殊寺建于新罗真成王统治时期。
