首露王于公元42年建立了可乐王国，并于公元48年与印度阿育陀国的公主许黄玉结婚。他是金海金氏的创始人。宣祖13年（1580年），岭南郡守许冶将坟墓改造成现在的样子。陵墓群包括各种建筑，包括崇善殿（存放首露王及其王后的牌位）、安乡阁、传室和祭祀阁，以及石头建筑，如辛道壁（墓碑）和gongjeokbi（为悼念死者而建立的纪念碑）。王陵前的墓碑建于朝鲜仁祖25年（1647年）。高宗在位21年（1884年）赐名“崇宣殿”。
