道岩书院建于1634年，原距现址1.5公里。它于 1660 年获得皇家特许状，并于 1880 年因洪水问题迁至现址。学园的正门，立德门，由三扇大门组成。进去后，可以看到正门对面的养圣堂，左边是应道堂。每年二月和八月在中正堂举行祭祀活动。学院内有一座神龛，供奉着曾在该学院任教的四位著名学者的牌位——金长生、金芝、宋俊吉和宋时烈。在为金长生及其教义服务的学院中，多南书院被认为是最重要和最有影响力的。
