태백산맥에는 영봉(고도 1,560m) 등 여러 봉우리가 있는데, 과거에는 천제단에서 천제를 지내던 곳이다. 장군봉(고도 1,567m), 문수봉(고도 1,517m), 그리고 함백산 정상(고도 1,572m)이다. 태백산은 멸종위기종을 비롯해 다양한 야생 동식물이 서식하고 있는 산이다. 더 높은 평야는 고산 식물로 덮여 있습니다. 봄에는 산진달래와 진달래로 산이 핫핑크색으로 변합니다. 여름에는 울창한 숲과 깨끗한 물이 있는 녹색; 가을에는 나뭇잎이 변하면서 무지개색으로 변합니다. 겨울에는 눈이 하얗게 쌓입니다.
