보라매공원은 옛 공군사관학교 부지를 1986년 5월 휴양공원으로 탈바꿈한 곳이다. 약 397,000㎡ 규모의 공원에는 테니스장, 스포츠센터 등 다양한 체육시설과 소규모 동물원, 연못, 산책로 등. 4관 2층에는 청소년들에게 인기가 높은 도서관과 청소년들이 다양한 활동과 프로그램을 즐길 수 있는 청소년센터가 있습니다. 공군사관학교의 상징탑은 지금도 충성과 효의 강력한 상징으로 자리잡고 있습니다.
