수로왕은 서기 42년 가락국을 건국하고, 서기 48년 인도 아유타국의 공주 허황옥과 결혼했다. 김해김씨 가문의 시조이다. 선조 13년(1580)에 영남부사 허엽이 현재의 모습을 갖추었다. 능역에는 수로왕과 왕비의 위패를 모신 숭선전을 비롯해 안향각, 전선사청, 제기고 등 다양한 건물과 신도비 등 석조 건축물이 있다. 묘비)와 공적비(고인을 기리기 위해 세운 비석)입니다. 왕릉 앞 비석은 조선 인조 25년(1647)에 건립된 것이다. 숭선전이라는 이름은 고종 21년(1884)에 무덤에 하사되었다.
