전의향교는 태종 13년(1413년)에 창건된 것으로 추정된다. 명륜당과 대성전만 있고 각각 앞에 3개의 문이 있는 심플한 공간 배치가 특징이다. 명륜당 서벽 바깥쪽에는 수직사가 있다.
전의향교에서는 1782년(정조 6)과 1783년에 간행된 『재임록』, 『서안』, 여러 의례서, 『어제윤음』(1782~1783) 등 여러 권이 출토됐다. |
