최승효 가옥은 양림산 남동쪽 기슭에 위치한 전통 가옥이다. 직사각형 모양의 건물은 동쪽으로 트여 있으며 앞면 8칸, 옆면 4칸 규모로 전통적인 맞배지붕을 이루고 있다. 1920년대에 건축된 건물이므로 일제 말기 한국 가옥의 건축 양식을 엿볼 수 있는 귀중한 자료입니다. 최상현은 자신의 다락방을 다른 활동가들에게 피난처로 제공한 활동가였다.
