美しい夜景で有名な龍淵池は、山の谷の終わりに集まった淡水が塩辛い海水と合流して形成されました。池は底が見えないほど深い。池にかかる木造の龍淵雲橋とあずまやが渓谷の景観と調和している。この池は、天に昇った龍が降り注いだ水によってできたという伝説があります。龍池という意味の名前も、西200メートルにある龍頭岩（龍頭岩）の龍がこの池に遊びに来ると信じられていたことに由来しています。
