「徳山」という名前は、元の名前である徳城山を短縮して付けられたものです。 この山地には美しい渓谷と、尼僧だけが集まるユニークな崇徳寺があります。崇徳寺の本殿である大恩殿は当時の姿で保存されています。 1308年に建立され、国宝に指定されています。 登殿のほか、崇徳寺には崇徳寺三重石塔など多くの文化財が保存されています。
