Jogyesan Mountain (884.3m), which encompasses two temples, Seonamsa Temple and Songgwangsa Temple, is located in Seungju-eup and Songgwang-myeon, Suncheon-si, Jeollanam-do. Jogyesan Mountain is a relatively low mountain and its terrain is soft and cozy. Around Seonamsa Temple, Wolchulbong Peak, Janggunbong Peak, Gitdaebong Peak, and Ilwolseok rise in a row. It was designated as a provincial park in December 1979, and designated as Historic Site and Scenic Spot No. 8 in December 1998.
The view of the South Sea from the top is the best. Along the gentle ridges on the left and right, the entire Jogyesan Provincial Park, including Sojanggunbong Peak (right) and Yeonsanbong Peak (left), spreads out beneath your feet. Due to the popularity of Songgwang Temple and Seonam Temple, not only are there a steady stream of tourists visiting the temple all year round, but many people also visit Jogyesan Mountain for the purpose of hiking. Whether you start hiking at Jogyesan Mountain from Songgwangsa Temple or Seonamsa Temple, you can enjoy a variety of courses in the same amount of time. The mountain is not steep and there are many flat paths, making it a suitable picnic course for families. |
