Wolchulsan Mountain is the southernmost mountainous national park that harmonizes beautiful natural scenery, outstanding cultural resources, and the local atmosphere of the Namdo Island, as befits its name, ‘Mountain Where the Moon Rises.’ Among them, the Gyeongpodae area is one of the trails that goes up Cheonhwangbong Peak of Wolchulsan Mountain. It was called Gyeongpodae because the water stream flowing from Wolchulsan Mountain 'looks like a long line of cotton cloth'. There is a hope that it will rain often and bring a good harvest.
The water in the valley next to the trail is famous for being so clear and cool, so many people visit the valley. There are no restrooms on the way up from the Gyeongpodae area to the summit, so it is recommended that you go to the restroom before entering the mountain.
