Mandeoksan Mountain (762m) stands tall on the right side of the middle of the old road from Hwasim, Soyang-myeon, Wanju-gun to Jinan. This is a historical battlefield where a fierce battle was fought against the Japanese army during the Japanese Invasion of Korea. It is a place where public secretaries frequently appeared during the Korean War, and is the same mountain as the gatekeeper guarding Gomtijae. The origin of Mandeoksan Mountain is derived from the Chinese characters for 10,000 (萬) and great virtue (德), which means a mountain that bestows virtue on all people. According to local residents, the local residents did not suffer disaster even after experiencing wars such as the Japanese Invasion of Korea and the Korean War, and the reason for this is that Mt. Mandok was a benefactor.

The mountain scenery is particularly beautiful. Mireuksa Temple, located under a rock wall at the foot of the eastern mountain, and the spectacular view of Mandeok Falls, which climbs a 50m high rock wall below and falls directly to the Biryu River, are a summer resort in harmony with the surrounding cool valley water and natural scenery, and a rock climbing spot for mountaineers in winter. It is frequently used. Mandeoksan Mountain is an area where the Forestry Research Institute of the Korea Forest Service and the Jeollabuk-do Environmental Research Institute observe, research, and preserve the northern part of the mountainous area as a survey area for wild animals. Its beautiful mountain scenery makes it a suitable place for a one-day hiking course for city residents.
