JEOLLABUK-DO WEATHER
Bangjangsan Mountain (733.6m) is a branch of the Noryeong Mountain Range and forms a huge main peak in the area of Wolgok-ri, Gochang-eup and Sinpyeong-ri, Sillim-myeon, and is connected to Ipamsan Mountain in Jeongeup. In addition, this mountain is the true mountain of Gochang, the most sacred peak in Gochang, and the sacred mountain that protects Gochang. It is called the Samshinsan Mountain of Jeollabuk-do along with Duseungsan Mountain in Jeongeup and Byeonsan Mountain in Buan. Along with Jirisanga, Jeongeupsa, Seonunsanga, and Mudeungsanga, Bangdeungsanga, one of the five major songs of Baekje, has been handed down.

According to old documents, Bangdeungsan changed to Bandeungsan over time, and in recent years, It is said that the mountain was renamed Bangjangsan Mountain to mean that it was large and wide and embraced all the people. Some say it originated from the Mohwa ideology. Bangjangsan Mountain has thousand-year-old temples, Sangwonsa Temple and Imgongsa Temple, and the recently built Mireukam Temple. Additionally, the water is deep and Yongchu Falls, where a dragon is said to have ascended to heaven, flows.
When you climb to the top of Bangjangsan Mountain, you reach the Sinseonji area, and you can see Gochang-eup, a vast hill development area, and the West Sea in the distance, as well as Mudeungsan Mountain in Gwangju to the east. If you are visiting Gochang, climbing to the top of Bangjangsan Mountain at least once and then descending the mountain to wash away your fatigue in the mineral waters of Seokjeong Hot Springs can be said to be the secret to good health.
