It is located at the foot of Palhaksan Mountain in Bulam Village, Seochang-dong, and is a shrine where ancestral rites are held to commemorate the feat of Sapbong Kim Se-geun, who died while fighting the Japanese invaders during the Japanese invasions of Korea (1592). In the 25th year of King Seonjo's reign (1592), Japanese pirates landed in Busan and invaded Seoul. When King Seonjo (the 14th king of the Joseon Dynasty) fled to Uiju to escape the tribulation, Gim Gong anticipated the invasion of the Japanese pirates and prepared a plainclothes Sijubu (Jeong 6th rank) rice in advance. After resigning his post, he gathered men from Baekmasan Suwongok (commonly known as Suwongol) in Seochang and Seong-gu, and practiced martial arts. Then, he led about 300 of them and defeated the enemies of Yeongdong and Hwanggan. He met with Go Gyeong-myeong and died heroically along with Go Gyeong-myeong, who was claimed by the Wapyeongs as a heavy burden. The current Haksansa Temple was built in 1958 by Confucian scholars in Gwangju who proposed the construction of a shrine to commemorate his holy soul, and is held every year for Chunhyang (March 22nd). ) is being carried out.
