Myeongji Valley is a long valley that flows east from the summit of Myeongji Mountain (1,267m), the second highest mountain in Gyeonggi-do. The parking lot of Myeongjisan Mountain, the entrance to the valley, is equipped with a store, hand tofu restaurant, public restroom, and bed and breakfast. As you enter the valley, the stream is abundant and clear, and the sight of it flowing gently over the bedrock is extremely refreshing. The valley wide open to Myeongji Mountain appears endlessly long and deep. If you walk for about 15 minutes while looking around the forest on the left and right from the entrance to Myeongjisan Mountain, you can vaguely see the roof of the temple through the forest. After a while, you will reach Seungcheonsa Temple and the scenery of Myeongji Mountain behind Jonggak is extremely beautiful.

From here, you only have to follow the main road to the large valley. This road was used as a mountain path in the past and is relatively well-maintained. As you go up the valley, you can see the mountain stream flowing gently between the rocks, large and small waterfalls appear one after another, and the beautiful scenery continues, so your steps naturally become lighter. If you go up for about 50 minutes from the valley entrance, the valley becomes deeper and you can see Myeongji Falls in the middle of the valley. Myeongji Waterfall, which is 7 to 8 meters high, is the best of Myeongji Valley as a summer resort that creates a spectacular view with autumn leaves and cools off the scorching heat in summer.
